1) Will a KSP 207 SFIC core drop into my Best, Arrow, or Falcon locks?
Yes. The KSP 207C-A is a 7-pin small format interchangeable core that fits Best, Arrow, Falcon, and other standard 7-pin SFIC housings. It swaps in and out with the control key, so you never take the lockset or the door trim apart to change access.
2) Is this core 6-pin or 7-pin, and does it matter for my existing housings?
It is a 7-pin core. That matters: a 7-pin SFIC is deeper than a 6-pin and will only seat in housings and locksets prepped for 7-pin cores. If your building is keyed on a 6-pin SFIC system, this core will not work with your existing keys or, in many cases, your existing housings.
3) What keys come with each KSP 207C-A core?
Each core ships combinated with one change key, code 2815741, for normal door operation, and one control key, code 5852743, for pulling and installing the core. One of each per core.
4) Are these cores keyed alike so one key opens every door?
Yes. The 207C-A cores are factory combinated keyed alike to the AMSTEL keying system, so the same change key operates every core ordered on that keying. That is what makes them practical for a run of doors in one building rather than one-off replacements.
5) Do I need a separate control key to remove the core, or will the change key do it?
You need the control key, 5852743. The change key, 2815741, only turns the lock. The control key retracts the core's locking lug so the core lifts out of the housing. Keep it with whoever administers keys, not on a tenant ring.
6) What keyway is the KSP 207C, and will my existing blanks cut for it?
It uses the industry-standard A keyway, the most common SFIC profile in commercial work. Standard A blanks apply. Only the A keyway is offered on the 207C-A.
7) Can I rekey a building without pulling the locks off the doors?
That is the point of an interchangeable core. With the control key you pull the old 207-series core and drop a new one in at the door in seconds, with no disassembly of the lockset or trim. For a property manager turning units or responding to a lost key, it replaces a rekey call with a core swap.
8) Is this the whole lock or just the cylinder core?
Just the core. The 207C-A is the keyed cylinder that seats into an SFIC-prepped lockset, exit device trim, cam lock, or padlock housing. You need the housing or lockset already in place, or ordered separately, for it to do anything.
