No. The 663-UL is a one-sided turn deadbolt: it throws and retracts from an interior thumb-turn only, and there is no exterior keyway at all. That makes it right for a door you never want opened from the outside, such as a rear service door, a storage or mechanical room, or a stairwell exit. If anyone needs to get in from the outside, this is the wrong part and you want a cylinder x thumbturn deadbolt instead, like the Dexter DB2000 Series single cylinder or the Hager 3215.
2) Will the Kwikset 663-UL fit a 1-3/8 inch door?
Yes, the 663-UL covers 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch doors as standard, so it handles both the common older interior thickness and the standard 1-3/4 inch commercial door. Outside that range you would need a different deadbolt with a wider thickness spec, such as the Deltana 7312KA2 at 1-3/8 to 2 inches.

Use the 663-UL only where the opening is deliberately outside the key system.
10) What deadbolt should I use if the door is thicker than 1-3/4 inches?
The Kwikset 663-UL is built for 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors. Above that, the Corbin Russwin DL3011 is a Grade 1 cylindrical deadlock covering 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch, the Deltana 7312KA2 is a Grade 3 double cylinder rated 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch, and the Dexter DB1000 Series runs 1-3/8 inch to 1-7/8 inch in both single and double cylinder.
