1) Will the Kwikset 982RDT deadbolt fit my existing door prep, or do I have to re-drill?
The 982RDT Milan latch is adjustable for either a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset, so it drops into either of the two standard residential bore preps without new drilling.
