LAB Lube LLT001 Lubricant Teflon

It's a dry powder. LAB Lube LLT001 is micronized PTFE (Teflon) in powder form, so it goes into a cylinder without leaving an oil film that attracts dust and gums up pin chambers. Odorless as well, which matters on occupied units and healthcare corridors.

Graphite is the traditional choice, but it cakes up over time and can bind pins in a cylinder that gets heavy use. The LAB PTFE powder is specified as a dry lubricant that will not cake up the way graphite does, so it's the better pick for high-cycle openings and for master keyed cylinders where sluggish pins turn into service calls. Either one beats a wet spray in a keyway.

Heat isn't a factor for it. The PTFE has a melting point of 320 C, far above anything an exterior lock, panic device, or closer arm will ever see in service, so it won't liquefy or run out of the mechanism in direct sun.

Yes. It's a general friction-fighting dry powder, not a keyway-only product, so it works anywhere you want lubrication without an oil film: hinge pins, drawer and cabinet slides, sliding window and patio door tracks, and exit device latch mechanisms. Dry powder is the right call on tracks in particular, where oil collects grit.

That's exactly where it earns its place. Because the PTFE is micronized, the particles are fine enough to work down into pin chambers, and since it stays dry it won't bind the thin master wafers the way a caked graphite deposit or a sticky oil can. Give the cylinder a light charge and cycle the key several times to distribute it.

Each is 1.0 oz of PTFE powder supplied in a polybag. For a locksmith stocking a van or a property manager doing a building-wide rekey, a 1 oz charge of dry powder treats a lot of cylinders, since you only need a light puff per keyway.

LAB sells it as model LLT001 under part number 51100. That's the 1.0 oz micronized PTFE powder. Distributors ordering by catalog number should reference 51100 to avoid confusion with LAB's other lubricant lines.
