LCN 1450-62PA 689 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the LCN 1450-62PA flush shoe and when do I need one?
The 1450-62PA is the parallel arm shoe for an LCN door closer. In a parallel arm installation the arm has to anchor to the door face, and the shoe is the mounting piece that carries that connection. If the closer is being set up in a parallel arm configuration, the shoe is a required part of the assembly, not an optional accessory. Regular arm installs do not use it.
2) Will this shoe work with a non-LCN door closer?
No. The 1450-62PA flush shoe is built for LCN door closer systems and their parallel arm assemblies. If the closer on the door is another brand, order that manufacturer's own parallel arm shoe instead.
3) What finishes does the LCN parallel arm flush shoe come in?
Six finishes: 689 aluminum, 690 statuary bronze, 691 light bronze, 693 gloss black, 695 dark bronze, and 696 brass. Pick the one that matches the closer body and arm already on the opening, since the shoe sits on the door face where it is visible.
4) Do I order the flush shoe separately from the door closer arm?
Yes, the 1450-62PA is sold on its own as a mounting component, so it is the part to order when you are replacing a damaged shoe or converting an existing LCN closer to parallel arm mounting. Specify the finish with the order.
5) Is the LCN 1450-62PA suitable for high-traffic commercial doors?
It is a commercial door hardware component, used on openings in offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, industrial buildings, multi-tenant residential, and government buildings. For a property manager standardizing closers across a building, the same shoe part carries across those LCN parallel arm installations, with the finish chosen per opening.
