LCN 1460-3077HD/62A 652 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly comes with the LCN 1460-3077HD/62A closer arm kit?
It is the heavy duty (HD) arm assembly for the LCN 1460 series closer, supplied with the 62PA parallel arm shoe. That means you get the arm itself plus the shoe that mounts to the door face, which is what a parallel arm installation needs. The closer body, cover, and mounting screws for the closer are not part of this assembly, so it is sold as a replacement or conversion part rather than a complete closer.
2) Will the 62PA arm convert my LCN 1460 from regular arm to parallel arm mounting?
That is what the part is for. The 62PA shoe assembly is the parallel arm hardware, so fitting this arm to a 1460 gives you a parallel arm installation with the closer body mounted on the push side of the door and the arm running back parallel to the face. If your opening needs the closer on the pull side instead, you want a regular arm assembly, not this one.
3) My LCN 1460 closer still works but the arm is bent - can I just replace the arm?
Yes, and that is the normal repair. A bent or sheared arm is the most common failure on a 1460 because the arm takes the abuse, while the closer body and hydraulics usually outlive it. Ordering the HD arm with the 62PA shoe puts a stronger arm back on the same closer body rather than replacing the whole unit. Confirm your existing installation is parallel arm before ordering this version.
4) Why choose the heavy duty arm instead of a standard LCN 1460 arm?
The HD arm is the one to specify where the door gets abused: high traffic entries, schools, healthcare corridors, and anywhere doors are pushed open hard or held back against the stop. It is built for extended service life under that kind of wear. On a low traffic interior office door a standard arm is adequate.
5) Can I get this LCN closer arm to match the finish on the closers already in my building?
Thirteen finishes are offered, so matching an existing run is usually straightforward: 689 Aluminum, 695 Dark Bronze, 690 Statuary Bronze, 691 Light Bronze, 639 Satin Bronze, 616 Satin Bronze Blackened, 693 Gloss Black, 632 Bright Brass, 633 Satin Brass, 696 Brass, 646 Satin Nickel, 651 Bright Chrome, and 652 Satin Chrome. Most commercial closers in the field are 689 or 695, so check the number stamped or painted on the existing cover before ordering.
