If your header is shallower than 1-3/4 inches or the tube is smaller than 4 inches, this closer will not go in.

That is exactly what it is for. The 6033 Pacer is a double-acting closer, and spring power and latch speed adjust independently for each swing direction, so you can tune push and pull separately on the same leaf. A standard single-acting overhead closer cannot control a door that swings both ways.
3) Do I have to order a track separately with the LCN 6033 concealed closer?
A track selection is required with the closer, and there are two: Track with Bumper (BUMP) or Hold Open Track with Bumper (HBMP). Pick HBMP only where a hold-open is permitted.
