The LTZES06G-B is 1-1/2 inch trade size liquid tight flexible metallic conduit, supplied in a 50 foot (15 m) coil. One coil covers a single 50 foot run or several shorter whips; if your run exceeds that, order multiple coils since the conduit is not intended to be spliced mid-run.

It is built on a galvanized steel core with a grey outer jacket. The steel core is what gives liquid tight flexible metallic conduit its crush resistance and pull strength compared with non-metallic flexible conduit, and it flexes for connections to motors, pumps, and other vibrating equipment where rigid conduit cannot be used.

Liquid tight flexible metallic conduit, like the 1-1/2 inch LTZES06G-B, has a galvanized steel core under the jacket, so it takes physical abuse and pulling loads better than liquid tight flexible non-metallic conduit (LFNC), which is all plastic. LFNC is lighter and easier to route in tight spots but gives up that mechanical protection. For a motor or pump whip in a mechanical room or on a rooftop where the conduit can get stepped on or struck, the metallic type is the usual choice.

A 1-1/2 inch liquidtight connector lands in a standard 1-1/2 inch trade size knockout, which is the same opening size used for 1-1/2 inch rigid or EMT fittings. If the enclosure has a smaller knockout, you would need to punch it up or step down to a smaller conduit size; the LTZES06G-B is 1-1/2 inch only.

Grey is the standard jacket color for this Thomas & Betts liquid tight flexible metallic conduit. It does not change the construction, which is a galvanized steel core in every case. Jacket color is mostly used on a job to distinguish systems or to match existing runs on a building where a property manager wants the fleet of whips looking consistent.
