1) Can the Juno IC22R recessed housing be installed in an existing ceiling, or does it need open framing?
The IC22R is a remodel housing, built to go into an existing finished ceiling. You cut the opening from below and the housing goes up through the hole, so there is no need to open the drywall or get above the joists. If you are working new construction with the framing exposed, a new-construction housing that nails to the joists is the right choice instead.
2) How big a hole do I cut for a Juno 6-inch remodel housing, and how much space do I need above the ceiling?
The IC22R is a 6-inch aperture housing. The housing body measures 13.75 x 7.125 x 7.125 inches, so plan on roughly 7-1/8 inches of clearance above the ceiling plane and enough joist bay run to take the 13.75 inch dimension including the attached junction box. In a bay with shallow depth or blocking in the way, measure the cavity before you cut.
3) What bulbs will fit a Juno 6-inch incandescent recessed can?
The IC22R takes one medium base lamp and accepts A19, BR30, BR40, PAR16, PAR20, PAR30, PAR30L, PAR38 and R20. Because the socket is a standard medium screw base on a drop socket with spring, a screw-in LED retrofit of the same shape works too, so long as the trim you pick clears the lamp.
4) Does the Juno IC22R come with the trim, or do I order that separately?
The housing is just that, the can, socket and junction box. Trim is a separate order. The socket is a drop socket on a spring, which is how Juno 6-inch trims seat and hold, so pick the trim by the look you want (baffle, reflector cone, eyeball, shower lens) matched to a 6-inch aperture and to the lamp you plan to run. Lamps are not included either.
5) What voltage is the Juno IC22R and how does the wiring land at the can?
