1) What are the dimensions of the Lockey GB200M gate box?
The GB200M measures 6 1/8 x 4 1/8 x 1 3/4 inches (length, width, depth as stated). The 1 3/4 inch depth is what matters on a gate frame: the box has to stand off or set into the frame far enough to clear the back of the lock, and on a hollow tube gate frame narrower than the 4 1/8 inch width you will be mounting to the face rather than inside the frame. Measure your gate stile before ordering.
2) I have a chain link or tube frame gate with nothing to mount a keyless lock to. What do I need?
A gate box is the answer. On a tube or chain link frame there is no 1 3/4 inch door thickness and no cross bore for the lock to pass through, so the lock mounts to a box that spans the frame instead. The GB200M gives that mounting platform sized to the Lockey M210 and M230 keyless locks. If you are running a different brand of lock, a blank weldable box such as the Keedex K-BX515175 or K-BX711150 is drilled to suit your own lock instead.
3) What is the difference between the Lockey GB200M gate box and a Keedex weldable blank box?
The Lockey GB200M is a gate box built to the Lockey M210 and M230 keyless lock footprint, measuring 6 1/8" L x 4 1/8" W x 1 3/4" D, so the lock prep is already sized for those two locks. The Keedex K-BX4 is a weldable blank box, meaning it ships with no lock cutouts and the installer welds it to the gate frame and cuts the prep to whatever lock is going in. Choose the GB200M when the lock is an M210 or M230; choose a weldable blank when the lock is a different make and the prep has to be made on site.
4) Which gate box do I use if the gate needs a request-to-exit or monitoring switch behind the lock?
The Keedex K-BX95552 is a weldable box supplied with a switch on the back, so the switch position is part of the box rather than something added after the box is welded in. The Lockey GB200M is a mounting box for the M210 and M230 mechanical keyless locks and houses the lock only, with no switch provision. On a gate where the mechanical keyless lock is all the access control required, the GB200M covers it; where a signal has to come back from the gate, the box with the integral switch is the one to specify.
5) I need a gate box for a lock that is not a Lockey M210 or M230 - what should I use instead?
Use a blank weldable gate box and cut the prep to suit the lock. Keedex offers the K-BX515175 and K-BX711150 weldable gate boxes, both supplied blank with no holes, so the face is drilled and cut for whichever lock body and trim the opening calls for. The Lockey GB200M is dimensioned for the M210 and M230 keyless locks specifically, so it is the wrong starting point for a lock outside that pair.
6) Does the Lockey GB200M gate box come with the lock, or do I order that separately?
Separately. The GB200M is the box only. To finish a gate you order the box plus either the M210 EZ keyless digital combination deadbolt or the M230 keyless digital combination deadlocking spring latch, and you supply the fasteners or welding to attach the box to your gate frame.
