Metallics BTT5 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the Metallics BTT5 to drill a pass-through for conduit in a block wall?
Yes, that is a common use for it. The 12 inch length covers the thickness of standard CMU and most brick-and-block assemblies in a single pass, and the 5/8 inch hole clears small-diameter conduit, ground rod leads, and anchor sleeves. Run it in hammer mode where your drill offers it.
2) How many bits come in a Metallics BTT5 pack?
One bit per pack, supplied in a pouch. If you are drilling a run of 5/8 inch holes in block or concrete for anchors, order a quantity that allows for a spare, since masonry bits dull faster in reinforced or aggregate-heavy concrete.
3) What is the Metallics part number for the 5/8 inch by 12 inch masonry bit?
Order it as Metallics BTT5. That is the extra-long masonry bit at 5/8 inch diameter, 12 inch overall, with a 3/8 inch shank, one per pouch.
