Metallics BTT22 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Metallics BTT22 fit a 3/8 inch chuck drill?
Yes. The BTT22 has a 3/8 inch round shank, so it chucks into a standard 3/8 inch keyed or keyless drill chuck. It is not an SDS or SDS-Plus bit, so it will not lock into a rotary hammer that only takes SDS shanks.
2) What is the Metallics part number for the 9/16 inch extra-long masonry bit?
Order it as Metallics BTT22. That number covers the 9/16 inch diameter, 6 inch extra-long bit with the 3/8 inch shank, single piece.
3) Does the Metallics BTT22 come as a single bit or in a pack?
One bit per unit, supplied in a pouch. If you are stocking a van or an MRO crib for repeat anchor work, order by the quantity of bits you need rather than expecting a multi-size set.
4) Can I use the Metallics BTT22 to drill through brick and concrete block, or just soft masonry?
It is a masonry bit, intended for brick, block, and concrete. Run it with the hammer function on a hammer drill where the base material is hard concrete, and straight rotation in softer block. It is not a wood or metal twist bit.
