1) What length Medeco M3 mortise cylinder do I need for my door?
Lengths run from 2 inches to 5 inches: 2, 2-1/4, 2-3/8, 2-1/2, 2-3/4, 3-1/4, 4-1/8 and 5 inch. The 1-1/4 inch standard mortise cylinder is not part of this range, so the 105500T is for cases and door preps deeper than that. Measure the old cylinder from the face of the shell to the back of the housing, not including the cam, and match it. 4) What is the difference between ordering the Medeco M3 cylinder pinned versus sub-assembled?
Pinned means the cylinder arrives with the pin stack loaded and keys cut, ready to install. Sub-assembled means it comes without the final pinning, for a locksmith or a facility with its own Medeco pinning kit and key machine who will key it on site into their own system. If you are a property manager or contractor without in-house key cutting, order pinned. M3 keys need a special key cutting machine and Medeco-specific blanks, so sub-assembled is not a do-it-yourself path.
5) Does the Medeco 105500T meet a Grade 1 heavy duty spec for a school or hospital?
