Milbank 88GFT – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What sizes does the Milbank GFT wireway tee come in?
The GFT tee is made in 2.5x2.5, 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 12x12 inch cross sections, matching the trough size of the hinged wireway run it joins. Order the tee in the same size as your wireway body so the flanges line up. Part numbers follow the size: 22GFT, 44GFT, 66GFT, 88GFT, and 1212GFT.
2) Can I use a Milbank GFT tee outdoors or in a wash-down area?
No. The GFT tee is an indoor enclosure, so keep it inside dry areas. For an outdoor or wet location run you need a raintight wireway fitting rated for that environment, not the GFT.
3) Will the GFT tee mate with my existing hinged wireway run?
The GFT is built specifically for hinged-cover wireway, so it matches that style of trough rather than screw-cover wireway. Match the cross section (2.5, 4, 6, 8, or 12 inch square) to the run and the tee lines up with the same hinged-cover arrangement.
4) What does a wireway tee do that an elbow or straight section won't?
A tee is the three-way branch fitting: it takes a wireway run and splits it off at 90 degrees while the main run continues straight through. Use an elbow when the run simply turns a corner and ends, and a straight trough when there is no branch at all. On the GFT, the hinged cover carries through the fitting so you can lay conductors in rather than pull them.
