1) Will the Milbank U2735-XT meter socket work on a 3-phase 4-wire service?
The U2735-XT is a 3-phase socket with 7 terminal jaws per position, rated 600 volts AC at 60 hertz. Seven jaws is the standard configuration for 3-phase 4-wire network metering, so it takes 7-jaw meters, not 4-jaw single-phase ones. If your tenants are on single-phase service, this is the wrong socket.
2) Does this Milbank 5-position meter socket include a main breaker or main disconnect?
No main breaker is furnished and there are no main breaker positions in the U2735-XT. It is a metering-only enclosure with five 200 amp continuous positions, so your service disconnect and any tenant overcurrent protection have to be provided separately downstream or ahead of the socket. There are no convenience receptacles either.
3) What size feeders can I land in a Milbank U2735-XT meter socket?
Line side lugs take two 2 AWG through 600 kcmil conductors per phase, so parallel runs are accommodated. Load side terminals accept 6 AWG through 350 kcmil. There is a ground lug for the equipment grounding conductor. If you need a bigger load side termination, the U2735-XT-K8 version is furnished with a double connector rated 4 AWG to 600 kcmil.
4) How much wall space do I need for this 5-position meter socket?
