Mulberry 30283 Anodized Aluminum 2-Gang Weatherproof Flat Blank Cover Plate

The Mulberry 30283 is a 2-Gang weatherproof flat blank cover engineered in anodized aluminum to seal and protect unused device positions on outdoor electrical boxes. Because it is a blank cover with no device cutouts, it delivers a clean, low-profile flat finish while helping shield the box interior from rain, dust, and general outdoor exposure. The anodized aluminum body is built to resist corrosion and weathering, making this cover a practical choice for exterior 2-gang boxes that need a durable, weather-resistant closure. Electricians and contractors use covers like the 30283 whenever a 2-gang position is left unused but the enclosure still needs full weatherproof protection.

Key Features

  • Durable Construction: Anodized aluminum body resists corrosion and weathering for long-term outdoor performance.
  • 2-Gang Configuration: Sized to cover two-position electrical boxes with a single flat plate.
  • Weatherproof Design: The flat profile helps shield the box interior from rain, dust, and moisture intrusion in exterior installations.
  • Blank Cover Style: No device openings, so it cleanly caps unused gang positions without exposing wiring.
  • Anodized Finish: Provides a durable, low-maintenance surface built to withstand repeated outdoor exposure.
  • Flat Profile: A low-profile flat design that sits cleanly against the mounting surface for a finished appearance.

Why Mulberry?

Mulberry builds the 30283 blank cover from anodized aluminum to deliver a weatherproof, corrosion-resistant solution for capping unused 2-Gang electrical box positions. The flat, blank design keeps outdoor installations clean and protected from the elements, while the anodized aluminum construction is intended to hold up to repeated exterior exposure without compromising the enclosure. For professionals finishing out exterior electrical work, the 30283 offers a straightforward, weather-resistant way to close off an unused 2-Gang position while keeping the overall installation code-conscious and tidy.

Mulberry 30283 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Mulberry 30283 cover used for?
The Mulberry 30283 is a blank cover, meaning it has no device openings at all. It caps a two-gang outdoor box where the positions are unused, keeping wiring enclosed and shielding the box interior from rain and dust. If you need a cover with openings for a receptacle or switch, this is the wrong part.
2) Will the Mulberry 30283 fit a single-gang outdoor box?
No. The 30283 is a 2-gang plate, sized to close off a two-position box with one flat plate. For a single-gang exterior box you need a 1-gang blank weatherproof cover instead.
3) Is the Mulberry 30283 blank cover suitable for outdoor use near the coast or in wet areas?
The body is anodized aluminum, which is chosen here specifically to resist corrosion and weathering on exterior boxes. That makes it a practical closure for outdoor junction and device boxes exposed to rain and moisture. Anodized aluminum will not rust the way a plain steel plate does.
4) Does the Mulberry 30283 sit flush or does it stick out from the wall?
It is a flat, low-profile plate that sits cleanly against the mounting surface. There is no raised dome or in-use bubble, so it will not project the way a while-in-use cover does. If you need a cord plugged in behind the cover, a flat blank plate is not what you want.
5) Can I use a blank cover to close off an unused gang on an exterior box and still keep the install tidy and code-conscious?
That is exactly the case the 30283 handles. When a two-gang exterior position is left without devices, the box still has to be closed. A blank anodized aluminum plate caps it with no openings, so nothing is exposed, and the flat face keeps the finished wall looking uniform with the other outdoor plates.
6) What is the Mulberry part number for the 2-gang weatherproof aluminum blank cover?
Mulberry 30283. That is the manufacturer part number to order or cross-reference when you are matching existing covers on a building.
