Norton Rixson 2BZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What finish does the Norton Rixson 2BZ spray paint match?
The 2BZ aerosol matches Light Bronze, listed as finish code 691 on Norton Rixson door closer hardware. It is a factory-formulated color match, so touch-ups on a closer body or arm blend with the original finish instead of reading as a patch.
2) Will the 2BZ paint work on a door closer from another manufacturer?
It is formulated to match the Light Bronze finish used on Norton Rixson door closer components and assemblies. On another brand's closer the color is a gamble, since bronze shades vary between manufacturers. If you are touching up a non-Norton closer, order the paint that brand publishes for its own finish.
3) Can I use the 2BZ touch-up paint on a door closer arm, or just the closer body?
Both. The spray format is meant for closer bodies, arms and related hardware surfaces, which is why it ships as an aerosol rather than a brush bottle. Mask around the opening and shoot light coats so the arm pivots and fasteners stay clear of buildup.
4) Is this a genuine Norton Rixson part or an aftermarket color match?
Genuine. The 2BZ is supplied by Norton Rixson as a replacement parts and accessories item for its own door closer line, so the color is matched at the source rather than mixed to a sample.
5) We maintain hundreds of doors in a school. Is this paint appropriate for a commercial building's hardware, or is it a consumer product?
It is classed as commercial and is intended for professional use on commercial door hardware. For a property manager or facilities crew standardizing on Light Bronze closers across a campus, keeping one can on the truck lets you correct scratches and install marks in the field instead of pulling and replacing a closer for cosmetics.
6) What is the 2BZ actually for, a full refinish or spot repair?
Either. It is sold for touch-ups, field corrections and refinishing, so it covers a chipped corner from an install as well as a full re-coat of a closer body that has weathered. The 2BZ is paint only; it is not a cover or a closer part, so it will not fix a dented shell.
