1) Does the Norton Rixson 128 Series top pivot come in a 1-1/2 inch offset as well as 3/4 inch?
Both offsets are offered. The 128 Series offset top pivot is ordered as either a 3/4 inch offset or a 1-1/2 inch offset, and the offset has to match the bottom pivot or floor closer already in the opening. Mixing a 3/4 inch top with a 1-1/2 inch bottom puts the door out of alignment and binds the swing.
2) Will this top pivot carry the weight of the door by itself?
No. The 128 Series top pivot only steadies the door at the head. The weight is carried by the bottom pivot or the floor closer underneath, and the 300 lb door rating applies to the assembly working together. Order the matching bottom pivot or floor closer with it.
3) Can I use this pivot on a fire rated door?
No. The 128 Series offset top pivot is not fire rated, so it should not go on a labeled opening. For a rated door you need pivot hardware carrying a fire label.
