Norton Rixson UNITX47 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Norton Rixson UNITX47 screw pack fit?
The UNITX47 is a Torx screw pack for Unitrol arms used on Norton Rixson 7500 Series door closers. It is the OEM fastener set for mounting or re-mounting a Unitrol arm assembly, so if your closer is a 7500 Series with a Unitrol arm, this is the matching hardware. It is not a general-purpose screw assortment for other closer families.
2) Will the UNITX47 replace a door closer arm or the closer body?
No. The UNITX47 is fasteners only, a Torx screw pack for the Unitrol arm. If the arm itself is bent or the closer body is leaking, you need the arm or closer, not this pack. Order it when the screws are stripped, lost, or being replaced as part of reinstalling an existing Unitrol arm.
3) Do I need the UNITX47 pack if I'm reinstalling a Unitrol arm after service?
Yes, and it is the usual reason to buy it. The pack exists so a service tech doesn't have to chase individual fasteners when reinstalling or repairing a Unitrol arm assembly on a 7500 Series closer. Torx heads are specified to meet the torque and retention requirements of that arm, so replacing a stripped or missing screw with a generic fastener is not an equivalent fix.
4) Is the UNITX47 a genuine Norton part or an aftermarket screw set?
Genuine Norton Rixson. The UNITX47 is supplied as an authentic OEM replacement component for 7500 Series closers, which matters on institutional openings where the closer has to stay on its original specification after service.
5) Is this screw pack meant for commercial door closers or residential ones?
Commercial. The UNITX47 is a commercial-rated door closer part, typically used in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, warehouses, government buildings and multi-tenant residential properties where 7500 Series closers with Unitrol arms are installed.
