Nylon is non-conductive and non-metallic, so a nylon 10-32 hex nut isolates the fastener from live parts and will not corrode or gall the way plated steel can. It also weighs less and will not rust in damp locations. The tradeoff is clamp load: nylon strips far sooner than steel, so it is for light retention, insulating standoffs and trim work, not for structural or high-torque fastening. Where you need real torque or a bonding path, use a steel or brass 10-32 nut instead.

One hundred nuts per jar, supplied in Metallics' jar pack. The jar is the order unit, so a single purchase gets you 100 pieces rather than a loose count.

It is a hex nut, so it drives with a standard wrench, socket or nut driver sized for a 10-32 hex. Because the body is nylon, snug it by hand or with light wrench pressure only. Running it down with a powered driver will round the flats or strip the threads.

Nylon does not rust, so the 10-32 nylon hex nut holds up in damp and corrosive spots where a plated steel nut would bloom. It is not a sealing nut and carries no gasket, so it does not make an enclosure watertight on its own, and prolonged UV exposure degrades bare nylon over time. For exposed exterior runs, stainless is the longer-lived choice.
