Metallics JNN160D – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread size are the Metallics JNN160D nylon hex nuts?
They're 8-32 nuts, so they thread onto any standard #8-32 machine screw. That's the thread you'll find on most device plates, switch and receptacle mounting screws, and small enclosure hardware.
2) Are the Metallics 8-32 hex nuts metal or plastic?
Nylon, not metal. That makes them non-conductive and non-corroding, which is why they get used on electrical assemblies where you don't want a metal fastener bridging to a live part or rusting in a damp box. If you need the joint to carry load or torque hard, use a steel or brass nut instead.
3) How many nuts come in the Metallics JNN160D pack?
100 nuts, packed in a jar. The jar format is what shops like on a van or a bench shelf, since you can pour out a handful without the bag splitting.
4) What part number do I order for 8-32 nylon hex nuts from Metallics?
Metallics part number JNN160D. One model covers it, so there's no finish or size choice to make on the order, just quantity of 100-count jars.
