NUVO Lighting 60-637 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO 60-637 cube wall lantern be installed in an exposed outdoor location that gets rain?
Yes. The 60-637 cube lantern carries a Wet location rating and is built for outdoor use, so it can go on an open exterior wall with direct rain exposure, not just under a covered soffit. It is cULus safety listed.
    2) What bulb does the NUVO 60-637 wall lantern take, and is one included?
It takes a single medium base (E26) lamp, A19 shape, up to 60W at 120V. No bulb ships with the fixture, so order lamps separately. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp you install, so if you want it on a dimmer, pick a dimmable bulb.
    3) How far does the NUVO 60-637 cube lantern stick out from the wall?
Extension is 6.13 inches off the wall face, with a width of 4.38 inches and height of 8.63 inches. That projection matters next to a door swing or along a narrow walkway or stair landing, so measure the clearance before you commit to the location.
    4) Is the NUVO 60-637 wall lantern ADA compliant for a corridor or egress path?
No. The 60-637 is not ADA compliant, and with a 6.13 inch projection it is not the right pick where a fixture has to stay within the ADA protrusion limit on an accessible route. For those locations choose a low-profile ADA-rated wall pack or sconce instead.
    5) What finish does the NUVO 60-637 cube lantern come in?
One finish only: Old Bronze, with clear beveled glass on all four sides. If you are matching existing entry fixtures across a property, it is a dark bronze cube with an aluminum body, so it reads closest to other oil-rubbed or old bronze exterior hardware.
    6) Will a cube lantern like the NUVO 60-637 hold up on a coastal or high-humidity building?
The housing is aluminum, so it will not rust the way a steel body does, and the fixture is wet rated for direct weather. Weight is under a pound (0.98 lbs), so it mounts to a standard wall junction box without blocking or extra support.
    7) Does the NUVO 60-637 lantern have any Prop 65 or RoHS reporting I need for a government or institutional spec?
It is RoHS compliant, and it carries a California Proposition 65 warning for lead. If you are submitting it on a public or healthcare project, those are the two items to put on the submittal along with the cULus safety listing.
    8) How much light does a clear beveled cube lantern throw, and where does it work best?
All four sides are clear beveled glass, so the single lamp throws light in every direction including up and down rather than being shielded to one side. That makes it useful beside entry doors, garage doors, and unit entries on multi-family buildings where you want general visibility. If you need light cut off and pushed down onto a walkway only, a shielded wall pack is the better choice.
