NUVO Lighting 62-1453 Orbit, 30W LED Flush Mount, White Finish

No. The Orbit 62-1453 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so it does not belong over a tub or shower, in a steam-prone bath, or under an exterior soffit or covered porch. For those spots you need a fixture carrying a damp or wet location rating.

No separate lamps. The Orbit 62-1453 uses an integrated LED board, so there is no socket and nothing to relamp. It draws 30W and puts out 1700 lumens, with an average rated life of 30,000 hours. When the LED reaches end of life the fixture is replaced, not re-lamped, which is the tradeoff property managers weigh against a socketed fixture.

It is a dimmable fixture on standard 120V line voltage, so it wires to a normal residential or light commercial branch circuit. Because it is an integrated LED driver rather than an incandescent load, pair it with an LED-rated dimmer; an old incandescent-only dimmer is the usual cause of flicker or a narrow dimming range on fixtures like this.

The Orbit 62-1453 carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers it for both US and Canadian installations, and it is RoHS compliant. Note the fixture is reported as containing lead under California Prop 65, which matters if you are specifying into a California project with disclosure requirements.

At 1700 lumens from a 23.5 inch diameter diffuser, the Orbit 62-1453 spreads a moderate amount of light over a wide face rather than concentrating it. That suits bedrooms, hallways, entries, and smaller living spaces as a single ceiling source. For a kitchen or an open-plan room expecting task-level light, plan on more than one fixture or supplement it.

True flush, ceiling mounted. The Orbit sits tight to the ceiling with no stem or downrod, which is why it works in low-ceiling corridors, closets, and stairwell landings where a semi-flush or pendant would be in the way. Finish is white, in a contemporary round profile.
