NUVO Lighting 62-1593 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the Lena 62-1593 vanity be installed in a bathroom above a shower or tub?
It carries a damp location rating and is an indoor fixture, so it is fine for normal bathroom humidity over a vanity or mirror. Damp rated does not cover direct water contact, so do not put it inside a shower enclosure or anywhere it gets sprayed, that needs a wet location fixture.
    2) Does the Lena LED vanity work on a dimmer, and can I change the bulbs later?
The Lena is dimmable on standard 120V line voltage, but the LED is integrated, there is no socket and no lamp to replace. It is rated 35,000 average hours, so plan on the whole fixture being the service item at end of life. Pair it with a dimmer rated for LED loads at 39 watts.
    3) Is the NUVO 62-1593 vanity light ADA compliant for a commercial or multi-family bathroom?
Yes, the Lena 62-1593 is listed ADA compliant, and its 3.25 inch projection from the wall keeps it inside the 4 inch protrusion limit that ADA applies to wall-mounted objects in a circulation path. It is also cETLus safety listed and RoHS compliant, which covers most spec requirements on institutional and multi-family jobs.
    4) Can I switch the color temperature on the Lena LED vanity between 3000K and 4000K?
No. The Lena 62-1593 is not CCT selectable, there is no field switch for color temperature. If you are standardizing a building and need to tune warm versus neutral white per area, you need a CCT selectable fixture instead.
    5) How is the Lena 62-1593 mounted, and how heavy is it?
Wall mount only, hung off a standard wall junction box, and it weighs 5.25 pounds. At that weight a properly secured box carries it without blocking or extra bracing. Can be installed shade up or down depending on how you want the striped lens to throw light, as with a typical linear vanity bar.
    6) Does the NUVO Lena 62-1593 require a California Prop 65 disclosure?
Yes. The 62-1593 is flagged for lead under California Proposition 65. Institutional and government buyers who track Prop 65 on submittals should carry that notice through on this fixture.
