NUVO Lighting 62-1637 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) How do you set the color temperature on the NUVO 62-1637 Glamour LED fixture, and does the brightness change with it?
It is a CCT selectable fixture with three settings, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K, chosen at the fixture during install rather than from the wall switch. Output shifts slightly by setting: 2000 lumens, 2250 lumens and 2125 lumens. CRI is 90 at all settings, so color rendering stays high whichever one you pick. For a building where you want every unit to match, pick one setting and set them all the same way.
    2) Will the 17 inch NUVO Glamour flush mount cover a standard 4 inch octagon ceiling box?
Yes. The fixture is 17 inches in diameter and mounts to the ceiling, so the canopy footprint sits well outside a standard 4 inch round or octagon box and covers it completely. Overall height off the ceiling is 3.75 inches, which keeps it clear of head height in low ceiling hallways and closets.
    3) Can the NUVO Glamour LED flush mount be put on a dimmer, and can the LED be replaced later?
It is dimmable on 120V line voltage. The LED is integrated, not a replaceable lamp, so there is no socket or bulb to change; service means replacing the fixture. Rated life is 50,000 hours at 25W draw, which is the tradeoff you accept with an integrated board.
    4) How much does the NUVO 62-1637 weigh, and does the ceiling box need to be fan rated?
The fixture weighs 6.45 lbs. That is within the load any standard listed luminaire outlet box handles, so a fan rated box is not required, just a properly secured ceiling box. Base material is steel, which is where most of that weight sits.
    5) What finish does the NUVO Glamour 17 inch flush mount come in, and will it match other fixtures in a unit?
Brushed nickel is the finish offered, which is the most common spec for matching bath and door hardware in multi-family and hospitality work. Styling is transitional, so it reads neutral against both traditional and contemporary trim packages.
    6) Is there a Prop 65 disclosure on the NUVO Glamour LED flush mount for California jobs?
Yes, lead is the listed CA Prop 65 chemical for this fixture, so California installs need the standard warning carried through on submittals. The fixture is also RoHS compliant, which institutional and government specs frequently ask for.
