NUVO Lighting 62-1638 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the NUVO Glamour 62-1638 LED flush mount be installed in a bathroom over a shower or tub?
The Glamour 62-1638 carries a Damp location rating and is listed for indoor use, so a bathroom ceiling is within its rating as long as it isn't in direct contact with water spray. Wet locations (open porches, direct shower spray) need a wet-rated fixture instead. It is cETLus safety listed.
2) How do I set the color temperature on the NUVO 62-1638 Glamour flush mount, and what are the options?
It's CCT selectable at 3000K, 4000K or 5000K, chosen at the fixture during install rather than by swapping a lamp. Output shifts with the setting: 3000L at 3K, 3300L at 4K and 3150L at 5K. For multi-family or hospitality work that means one SKU can be set warm in units and cooler in back-of-house.
3) Can I replace the bulbs in the NUVO Glamour 62-1638 when they burn out?
No. The LEDs are integrated into the fixture, with no socket or lamp base to relamp. Rated life is 50,000 hours, so at roughly 12 hours a day that's over a decade before output decline matters. When it does fail, you replace the fixture, not a lamp. Worth knowing if your facility standard requires field-replaceable lamps.
4) Is the NUVO 62-1638 dimmable, and do I need a special dimmer?
The fixture is dimmable and runs on 120V with an integrated LED driver at 39W. Pair it with a dimmer rated for LED loads; standard incandescent-only dimmers are the usual cause of flicker or buzz on low-wattage LED fixtures.
5) Is 3000 lumens enough from a single 24 inch flush mount for a bedroom or living room?
At 3000 to 3300 lumens depending on the CCT setting, one Glamour 62-1638 covers a typical 12x14 bedroom or a medium living room as the sole ceiling source. For larger open rooms, plan on two. CRI of 90 means color rendering is high enough for living spaces and retail, not just utility areas.
6) Does my ceiling box need to support the weight of this 24 inch LED fixture?
The fixture weighs 11.15 lbs and mounts to the ceiling. A standard listed ceiling outlet box handles that comfortably (boxes are rated for 50 lbs unless marked otherwise), so no fan-rated or braced box is required. The base is steel.
7) Will the brushed nickel NUVO Glamour fixture match other nickel trim in the unit?
It's offered in brushed nickel only, so there's no finish decision to make when ordering. Brushed nickel reads as a soft satin gray and sits alongside most brushed nickel fixtures and door hardware. If your building standard is bronze or matte black, this collection won't match.
8) Does the NUVO 62-1638 come with a Prop 65 warning?
Yes, lead is the listed CA Prop 65 chemical for this fixture, which matters for California projects and government or healthcare procurement that requires disclosure. The fixture is also RoHS compliant.
