NUVO Lighting 62-1805 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the NUVO 62-1805 disk light mount to an existing junction box?
Yes. The 62-1805 is a ceiling-mounted disk light that attaches to 3 and 4 inch junction boxes, so in most retrofits you reuse the box already in the ceiling. Overall it measures 7.42 inches in diameter and 1.42 inches high, so the 7.42 inch canopy covers the box opening. It weighs 0.58 lbs, light enough for a standard box without extra bracing.
2) How do you set the color temperature on the NUVO 62-1805 CCT selectable disk light?
The 62-1805 uses SATCO's ColorQuick selectable CCT, and the fixture itself carries the choice of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, or 5000K. You pick the temperature at the fixture during install rather than ordering a separate part number per color, which is why one SKU can match warm residential corridors and cooler back-of-house areas in the same building.
3) Can this 7 inch LED disk light go in a shower or a covered exterior soffit?
The 62-1805 carries a wet location rating, so damp and wet interior spots like shower ceilings and bathrooms are fine. Its location designation is indoor, so use it inside rather than as an exterior fixture.
4) How much light does an 8 watt 7 inch LED disk light actually put out?
Output on the 62-1805 runs 490 to 640 lumens at 8 watts, with the figure depending on which color temperature you select. CRI is 93, so colors read accurately, which matters for retail, healthcare, and anywhere finishes are being judged.
5) Is the NUVO 62-1805 disk light dimmable, and does it need a lamp?
It's dimmable, and the LED is integrated, so there is no socket and no bulb to buy or replace. Rated life is 50,000 hours. When the LED reaches end of life the whole fixture is replaced, which is the tradeoff with any integrated disk light.
6) Is this disk light safety listed, and what is it made of?
The 62-1805 is cETLus listed for both US and Canadian use, and RoHS compliant. Housing is steel with an acrylic lens. It also carries a California Prop 65 notice for lead.
7) Should I use a 7 inch or 10 inch disk light for my space?
The SATCO CCT selectable disk lights come in 7 inch and 10 inch sizes. The 62-1805 is the 7 inch, 8 watt version at 490 to 640 lumens, sized for closets, hallways, baths, and tighter unit layouts where you want a closer fixture spacing. Larger rooms with fewer fixture locations are where the 10 inch makes more sense.
8) Does the NUVO 62-1805 have surge protection for commercial installs?
Built-in 2.5KV surge protection is included. On multi-family and MRO jobs where line transients take out cheap drivers, that is the spec that matters alongside the 50,000 hour rated life.
9) Can I buy the 62-1805 disk light in a contractor pack?
SATCO offers these CCT selectable disk lights individually or in 6-pack contractor packs. The 62-1805 part number is the white finish 7 inch, 8 watt single unit configuration.
