NUVO Lighting 62-1666 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the NUVO 62-1666 7 inch disk light be used in a shower, a covered porch, or a bathroom ceiling?
It carries a wet location rating, so damp and wet ceiling spots like showers and covered entries are within its rating. The fixture itself is classified for indoor use, so for an exposed exterior ceiling with no cover you want a fixture listed for outdoor locations.
2) How do I set 3000K, 4000K, or 5000K on the NUVO 62-1666, and can I mix color temperatures in the same building?
It is a CCT selectable fixture with 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K choices, set at the fixture at install time. That is what makes it practical for a property manager standardizing across a portfolio: order one part number for every ceiling, then set warm 3000K in units and corridors and 4000K or 5000K in laundry, storage, or back-of-house. Output shifts with the setting, 780 to 910 lumens across the range.
3) Is the NUVO 62-1666 disk light dimmable, and what voltage circuit does it need?
Dimmable, on a standard 120V line. There is no driver or transformer to add and no lamp to buy, the LED is integrated into the fixture.
4) How much light does a 7 inch LED disk light put out, and is the color quality good enough for a residential or hospitality space?
780 to 910 lumens depending on the color temperature setting, from a 13W LED fixture. CRI is 90, which is high enough for guest rooms, lobbies, and retail where skin tones and finishes need to read correctly rather than just being lit.
5) Does the NUVO 62-1666 disk light have a safety listing I can hand to an inspector?
It is cETLus listed, which covers both US and Canadian safety requirements. The fixture is also RoHS compliant. Note the California Prop 65 disclosure for lead.
6) What is the 62-1666 disk light made of, and how long before the LED needs replacing?
Steel base with a frosted lens, rated 50,000 average hours. Because the LED is integrated there is no relamping, the whole fixture gets swapped at end of life, which is the tradeoff MRO buyers weigh against never sending a tech up a ladder for a bulb.
7) What finish does the NUVO 62-1666 come in, and how heavy is it for ceiling mounting?
Bronze is the finish on 62-1666, in a transitional profile. At 0.76 lbs it is light enough to go up on a standard ceiling box or bracket without added support.
