NUVO Lighting 62-1804 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the NUVO 62-1804 disk light mount to an existing junction box, or does it need a recessed can?
No can needed. The 62-1804 is a surface ceiling-mount disk light that fits 3 and 4 inch junction boxes, so it goes straight onto standard existing boxes. It measures 7.42 inches in diameter and only 1.42 inches tall, so it sits nearly flush to the ceiling.
2) How do I set the color temperature on the NUVO 62-1804 5-CCT selectable disk light?
The fixture has a CCT selector built in, giving you 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K from one unit. For a property manager stocking one SKU across a building, that means you can match the warm 2700K look in apartments and run 4000K or 5000K in laundry rooms and corridors from the same box.
3) Is the 7 inch NUVO disk light rated for a shower, covered porch or laundry room?
Wet location rated, and cETLus listed, so damp and wet spots like bath/shower ceilings and covered exterior soffits are within its rating. The fixture is otherwise classified for indoor use, so check your local inspector's expectation for fully exposed outdoor locations.
4) How much light does the NUVO 62-1804 put out and what does it draw?
15W at 120V, producing 770 to 900 lumens depending on which color temperature you select (higher CCT settings sit at the top of that range). CRI is 93, so colors read accurately, which matters in kitchens, retail and healthcare spaces.
5) Is this disk light durable enough for multi-family turns and high-traffic corridors?
Construction is steel with an acrylic lens, and the unit is rated 50,000 hours with built-in 2.5KV surge protection. For MRO buyers that combination is the argument for standardizing: one 15W fixture, no lamp replacements, and surge headroom on circuits that see spikes.
6) Should I use the 7 inch or the 10 inch NUVO CCT selectable disk light?
The 7 inch (62-1804) delivers 770 to 900 lumens at 15W and suits closets, hallways, baths and tighter ceiling spots where a 7.42 inch trim fits the existing box location. NUVO's ColorQuick disk lights also come in a 10 inch size for larger rooms where you want fewer fixtures covering more area. Both mount to 3 and 4 inch junction boxes.
7) Is there a Prop 65 warning on the NUVO 62-1804 disk light?
Yes, lead is listed under California Prop 65 for this fixture. It is RoHS compliant and the unit weighs 0.58 lbs, light enough to hang off a standard box bracket without extra support.
8) Does the NUVO 62-1804 come in a contractor pack?
NUVO's CCT selectable disk lights are sold individually or in 6-pack contractor packs. The 62-1804 is the black finish, 7 inch version.
