1) Can I set the color temperature on the NUVO 63-501, or do I have to pick one when I order?
Color temperature is selectable at the fixture itself, so one part number covers the whole job. Pick the CCT at the switch on the unit during install instead of stocking separate SKUs per color. It also dims, and the CRI is 90 or better, which matters over a countertop where you want food and finishes to read true.
2) Can I use the NUVO 63-501 CounterQUICK light in a bathroom vanity or an outdoor kitchen?
No. The 63-501 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so it is wrong for an outdoor kitchen, a covered patio bar, or anywhere it sees splash or condensation. A bathroom vanity is acceptable only if the fixture stays out of any damp zone; for anything that gets moisture you need a damp or wet location rated fixture instead.
3) How does the NUVO 63-501 under cabinet fixture mount, and is hardware included?
It screws up into the cabinet bottom. Mounting is screw-fixed under the cabinet, so you need access to the underside of the cabinet box and a clear 11 by 3.5 inch footprint. The fixture weighs 0.71 lbs, so there is no load concern on a standard cabinet bottom.
4) Is the NUVO 63-501 safety listed for commercial and multi-family work?
The 63-501 carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian requirements, and it is RoHS compliant. Note that it carries a California Prop 65 notice for lead, which some institutional and government specs require you to disclose.
5) Is this NUVO CounterQUICK fixture metal or plastic, and will it hold up in a rental kitchen?
Construction is aluminum with a polycarbonate lens housing, finished in white. The aluminum body doubles as the heat sink for the integrated LED, which is what supports the 40,000 hour rated life. For property managers turning units, there is no lamp to stock or replace over that life.
6) Does the NUVO 63-501 come in anything other than white?
White is the only finish offered on the 63-501. If the cabinet underside is dark and you want the housing to disappear, you would need a different model, since this one ships white only.
