NUVO Lighting 65-628R1 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Will the NUVO 65-628R1 canopy light run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The 65-628R1 is a universal input fixture rated 120V through 277V, so it drops onto 120V single-phase or 277V commercial circuits without changing the fixture or adding a transformer. That covers gas station canopies, parking structures, and loading docks running 277V lighting panels.
    2) Can the NUVO 65-628R1 LED canopy fixture be used outdoors in the rain?
It's an outdoor fixture with a Wet location rating and a die-cast aluminum housing, so direct exposure to rain and splash is within its rating. It also carries a cULus safety listing for US and Canadian installs.
    3) How does the NUVO 65-628R1 canopy light mount, and how much does the ceiling have to hold?
Mounting is ceiling pendant, surface mount style, and the fixture weighs 4.41 lbs, so a standard 4-inch octagon or fixture box rated for luminaire support is enough. Round footprint measures 10.04 inches in diameter and 3.15 inches tall, which is worth checking against an existing canopy cutout or J-box plate before you pull the old unit.
    4) Do I need to order lamps with the NUVO 65-628R1 canopy fixture?
No lamps to buy. The LED array is integrated into the fixture, there is no socket or lamp base, and it's rated for 50,000 average hours. That also means when the LED reaches end of life you replace the fixture, not a bulb, which is the trade-off against a legacy HID canopy unit.
    5) Is this 55W LED canopy fixture dimmable on a lighting control system?
Yes, the 65-628R1 is a dimmable fixture, so it can be tied into a canopy dimming or energy-management scheme rather than running full output all night. Pair that with the 55W draw and the three-step CCT selection if you're trying to hit a site energy target.
    6) What finish does the NUVO 65-628R1 come in if I'm matching other canopy lights on the property?
Bronze only on the 65-628R1, with a utility-style die-cast aluminum body. If the rest of the canopies on the site are white or dark bronze from another line, order one first and hold it against the existing housings before committing the full count.
    7) Does the NUVO 65-628R1 carry a California Prop 65 warning?
Yes. Lead is the listed Prop 65 chemical for this canopy fixture. The fixture is also RoHS compliant, which matters for institutional and government purchasing specs that call it out.
