The TP220 is the part that brings 120V line power into a track section from a ceiling outlet box. It mounts over the box, the track end plugs into it, and the round canopy covers the opening. It is a reverse polarity feed, so the polarity orientation is flipped relative to a standard feed and it must match the polarity of the track and fixtures on the run.
2) Will a reverse polarity track feed work on a standard polarity track system?
No. Reverse polarity track components only go with reverse polarity track and heads. The TP220 is built as a reverse polarity feed, so if the track already installed is standard polarity you need the standard version instead, or the fixtures will not seat and make contact correctly.
3) Can the TP220 track power feed be used in a covered outdoor breezeway or a bathroom over a shower?
No. It is rated for indoor, dry locations only, so keep it out of damp or wet areas such as covered exteriors, shower zones, or unconditioned porches. Interior retail, office, and residential ceilings are what it is for.
