OATEY 34125 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Oatey 34125 tub protector fit a standard 14 inch deep alcove tub?
Yes. The Oatey 34125 is adjustable to fit tubs from 14 to 16 inches in depth, which covers most standard alcove and drop-in tubs on a residential job. Below 14 inches of tub depth it will not seat correctly.
2) Does the Oatey 34125 tub protector work on a tub with the drain on the left side?
It works either way. The 34125 fits both left hand and right hand drain tubs, so you don't have to stock two versions for a multi-unit rough-in.
3) What does a bath tub protector like the Oatey 34125 actually do during construction?
It covers and shields an installed tub through the rest of the build, so tile work, drywall, paint and dropped tools don't chip or scratch the finish. The 34125 is made of high impact plastic and has pads on the bottom to absorb shock and keep it from scratching or denting the tub surface it sits on.
4) Does the Oatey 34125 tub protector need tools or extra parts to set up?
No tools or add-on parts. It assembles right out of the package, and it folds down flat for storage so a contractor can move it between units or stack several on a truck.
5) How heavy is the Oatey 34125 tub protector to carry up to a unit?
About 2.51 lb, so one person handles it easily, and it ships at 0.58 cubic feet folded. That matters if you are ordering a batch for a multi-family turn and need to figure storage space on site.
