6) Will this 3 inch snap-in strainer work in cast iron or 3 inch copper DWV?
It is specified for 3 in. Schedule 40 DWV pipe, which is the PVC/ABS inside diameter. Cast iron and copper DWV do not share that inside diameter, so a push-in strainer sized to Schedule 40 will not hold reliably in them. Match the strainer to the pipe material you actually have.
