OATEY 33698 3/4"x 12" Copper Plated Milford Hangers

It's built for copper tube. The copper plating exists so the hanger and the pipe are the same metal at the contact point, which is what you want on a copper system. On a steel line that plating buys you nothing, and on PEX you generally want a hanger with a wider bearing surface that won't bite into the tubing. Use it where it was intended: hanging 3/4 inch copper.

They come pre-drilled the full length of the strap, so you screw straight through whichever hole lands where you need it. That's the point of a Milford style hanger over a plain strap: you cut or bend to the drop you need and fasten at the nearest hole. Fasteners are not part of the hanger, so bring your own screws.

Cold rolled steel with a copper plating, at a .050 inch minimum thickness. That thickness is the number worth checking against a lighter gauge perforated strapping, which will deform under a long horizontal run. Material is listed simply as metal on the spec record.

Oatey 33698. That's the manufacturer part number to quote, and it identifies the 3/4 inch by 12 inch copper plated version specifically. Milford hangers are sized by both pipe diameter and strap length, so the length is as much a part of the order as the pipe size.

About 0.132 pounds each. On a box quantity for a whole rough-in that matters more than it sounds, both for what you carry up the ladder and for what a strap this light tells you about the load it's meant to carry: it's a hanger for a residential or light commercial 3/4 inch water line, not a support for large diameter pipe.
