The Oatey 76016 is a 6 inch PVC sediment drain with a plastic grate and a removable sediment bucket. The bucket catches grit, sand, and debris before it reaches the drain line, so you pull the grate, lift the bucket, dump it, and put it back instead of rodding out the pipe. That makes it a floor drain choice for wash bays, mechanical rooms, laundries, and any area where the wash water carries solids.

Plastic. The 76016 pairs a PVC body with a plastic grate, which suits wet, corrosive, or chemical-washdown areas where a cast iron or steel grate would rust. Plastic grates are not meant for vehicle or heavy cart traffic, so for loading docks and drive-over locations pick a metal-grated drain instead.

The 76016 is a PVC drain, so it is built to solvent weld to PVC DWV pipe. Tying it into an existing cast iron line means transitioning with a no-hub coupling or a shielded transition coupling at the outlet; the drain itself does not make that joint for you.
