1) What pipe sizes does the Oatey 14051 Master Flash roof flashing fit?
The 14051 Master Flash covers pipe diameters from 7/8 inch up to 4 inches. The EPDM collar is trimmed down to the pipe size you are working with, so one part handles a wide range of vents, conduit, and small stacks. Cut to the marked ring that matches your pipe so the collar seats tight against the outside diameter.
2) Will a Master Flash boot work on a metal or corrugated roof, or only flat shingle?
It is built for profiled roofing, and rated for use at any roof pitch. That means ribbed and corrugated metal panels, tile, and other contoured surfaces where a rigid flashing cannot conform. The pliable base flexes down into the profile instead of bridging over it.
3) How do you install the Oatey 14051 pipe flashing, and what do I need to buy with it?
Set the base over the penetration with silicone sealant between the base and the roof surface, then fasten it down with sheet metal screws. Neither the sealant nor the screws come with the flashing, so add both to the order. The collar is trimmed to your pipe diameter before the base goes down.
4) How big is the base on the 14051 Master Flash, and is it wide enough to land on my panel?
The base is 6 x 6 inches. On a ribbed metal panel that is a fairly compact footprint, so check that you have 6 inches of surface around the penetration to bed in sealant and land screws. For larger stacks or wider fastening area you would step up to a bigger Master Flash base.
5) Can I use the Oatey 14051 on a pipe larger than 4 inches if I stretch the collar?
No. The collar tops out at 4 inches, and forcing it over a larger pipe stresses the rubber and breaks the seal you are paying for. For a 5 or 6 inch penetration, move up to a larger Master Flash size with a collar range that includes your diameter.
