Oatey 30777 clear primer strips surface dirt, grease and grime off the pipe and fitting, then softens the plastic so the cement can form a fast, secure solvent weld. On commercial and large diameter thermoplastic systems, skipping it is how you get joints that look glued but never fully fused. Apply primer, then cement while the surface is still wet.
2) Will clear primer pass inspection, or does my inspector want purple?
