OATEY 38941 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Oatey 38941 faceplate fit a Quadtro washing machine outlet box?
Yes. The 38941 is the plastic snap-on faceplate for Oatey Quadtro, Center Drain and Offset Drain washing machine outlet boxes. It is the white replacement front, not the box itself, so it is what you order when the original cover is broken, painted over, or missing after a turnover.
2) Do I need to open the wall or pull the washer box to replace this faceplate?
No. It is a snap-on frame, so it comes off and goes back on from the room side with the box left in place behind the drywall. For a property manager cycling units, that makes a cracked or discolored cover a few-minute fix rather than a plumbing call.
3) What is the Oatey 38941 faceplate made of, and will it hold up in a rental laundry closet?
High impact polystyrene, in white. That is the same material family as the box itself, and it resists the knocks a washer gets shoved against the wall without cracking the way brittle plastics do. It cleans up with ordinary household cleaners.
