Red Dot B228BRE-RU – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly comes in the Red Dot B228BRE-RU outdoor lighting kit?
The B228BRE-RU is a bronze weatherproof floodlight kit built around two lamp holders, so it covers a double-head flood setup. The housing is die cast aluminum in a contemporary round weatherproof floodlight style, and it sells as each (one kit per order unit).
2) How much total lamp wattage can the Red Dot B228BRE-RU floodlight kit handle?
Rated at 150 W total across the two lamp positions. Size your lamps so the pair stays within that figure, which in practice means two 75 W flood lamps or one 150 W if you cap the other socket.
3) Is the Red Dot B228BRE-RU rated for outdoor wet locations on a building exterior?
Yes. It is a weatherproof floodlight assembly in die cast aluminum, intended for exterior use on walls, soffits, and grounds lighting rather than indoor dry-location fixtures.
4) Will the bronze finish on this Red Dot flood kit match the bronze outdoor boxes and covers already on my buildings?
The kit is finished bronze, which is the common pairing with Red Dot bronze weatherproof boxes and covers on multi-family and commercial exteriors. Only one finish is offered under part number B228BRE-RU, so if your standard is gray or white you need a different catalog number.
5) Does the Red Dot B228BRE-RU include lamps?
The B228BRE-RU covers the bronze die cast aluminum floodlight assembly with two lamp positions. Lamps are specified and bought separately, so order flood lamps sized to the 150 W total rating along with the kit.
6) Why choose a die cast aluminum flood kit instead of a plastic outdoor fixture?
Die cast aluminum holds up better where the fixture is exposed to impact, heat from incandescent or halogen flood lamps, and long UV exposure. For parking areas, service doors, and tenant exteriors that get rough handling, the metal body of the B228BRE-RU is the more durable choice; a polymer fixture is lighter and cheaper to hang but less tolerant of abuse.
7) What is the Red Dot part number and UPC for the bronze two-lamp outdoor flood kit?
Order it as Red Dot B228BRE-RU. That single catalog number covers the bronze two-lamp weatherproof floodlight kit and there are no finish or size variations under it.
