1) Will the Panduit CMSTZIW ST adapter snap into a standard Mini-Com faceplate or patch panel?
Yes. The CMSTZIW is a Mini-Com module with integrated panel retention clips, so it snaps into Mini-Com faceplates, patch panels, and surface mount boxes the same way a copper Mini-Com jack does. Because it is a Mini-Com sub-brand module, it takes one module opening.
2) Is this ST adapter simplex or duplex, and how many fibers does it terminate?
Simplex. The CMSTZIW body style is simplex with an ST simplex connection, so it accepts one ST connector on each side, terminating a single fiber. For a two-fiber circuit you need two modules, one for transmit and one for receive.
3) Can I use a Panduit multimode ST adapter on singlemode fiber?
It is built as a multimode ST adapter, with zirconia ceramic split sleeves. Zirconia ceramic is the sleeve material used for precision alignment, but the adapter is specified multimode, so for singlemode links order the singlemode version of the Mini-Com ST adapter rather than this one.
4) How many of these ST adapters do I have to buy at a time?
Minimum order is 20 pieces. Each piece is packaged individually and the standard carton holds 10, so a 20 piece order comes as two cartons.
