Hammond Manufacturing CWAD4 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the CWAD4 fit an enclosure larger than 4 x 4?
No. The CWAD4 is sized for a 4 x 4 application only. For a larger box you need the panel adapter matched to that enclosure size rather than this one, so order by the enclosure's nominal dimensions.
2) What is the Hammond CWAD4 panel adapter used for?
The CWAD4 is a 4x4 panel adapter from Hammond Manufacturing, ordered under part number CWAD4. It adapts a mounting panel to a 4 x 4 enclosure interior, giving you a flat surface to mount components inside the box rather than drilling the enclosure itself.
3) Is the Hammond CWAD4 RoHS and REACH compliant for a spec job?
Both. The CWAD4 panel adapter is RoHS compliant and REACH compliant, which covers the usual substance declarations an institutional or government submittal asks for.
4) Where is the Hammond CWAD4 made, and does it qualify under USMCA?
Made in Canada, and it is USMCA compliant. That matters on public and federally funded work where domestic or North American content has to be documented on the submittal.
5) Is a mounting panel included with the CWAD4?
The CWAD4 is the adapter itself, part number CWAD4. It is the piece that lets a panel be mounted in the 4 x 4 enclosure; the panel and the enclosure are separate line items, so plan the order as three parts if you are starting from scratch.
