The PC250 is a copper body, so it is intended for copper to copper connections. Putting bare copper directly against aluminum invites galvanic corrosion at the joint, so for aluminum or a copper to aluminum transition use a connector rated for that combination instead.

The PC250 is a mechanical parallel groove clamp that joins two bare conductors running side by side, typically a tap or ground run off a main. It is a bolted mechanical connection, so no crimp tool or compression die is needed to make it up, and it can be taken apart later if the tap has to be moved.

It carries a 35 kV voltage rating, which puts it in medium voltage distribution territory rather than just building branch circuits. Since the clamp itself is bare, that rating applies to the connection once it is insulated and installed per the system requirements.

No press or die set required. This is a bolted mechanical connector, so it goes on with hand tools and gets torqued down on the bolt. That makes it practical for field taps where hauling a hydraulic crimper is not realistic, and it is the reason many utility and MRO crews keep them on the truck.

Not for that. A parallel groove clamp joins two conductors lying parallel to each other, which is what makes it right for tapping a ground run off a main conductor. For a conductor to a ground rod or to structural steel you want the purpose made rod clamp or a ground lug, since the groove geometry here is built around round conductor up to 3/8 inch OD, not a flat surface.
