PDQ 99E 1" Round Offset Pull Handle, Back to Back, 10" CTC

Commercial Door Pulls, Single and Back to Back Mount

PDQ door pulls mount on the pull side of a door and come in round straight, flat straight, cast and offset pull handle styles, with center-to-center spacing from 5-1/2" up to 12" depending on the model.

Single pulls and back to back models are offered, with thru bolt, surface concealed and back to back mounting types for 1-3/4" metal, composite or wood doors and 1/2" glass doors. Pulls are often specified with a PDQ push plate on the opposite face so both sides of the door get matching hardware without lock trim.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should a pull be used instead of a lockset?
Push plates and pulls suit doors that do not need locking, such as interior doors, restrooms, storage rooms or one-way traffic doors where only an open and close function is required. PDQ pulls mount on the pull side and are often specified as a matched set with a push plate on the push side.

Does PDQ offer ADA pulls?
Yes. PDQ offers ADA-oriented options, including the H3 pull with 2-1/2" hand clearance for accessible operation. Recommended mounting follows ADA/ANSI A117.1 guidance, with pulls at 42" above finished floor and a minimum 4" clearance between the pull and the door stile.

PDQ 99E630 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the PDQ 99E pull mount on a 1/2 inch glass door?
Yes, but you have to order the right mounting. The 99E offset pull is a back-to-back handle, and mounting is a required selection: Type 5 back to back for metal or wood doors, or Type 13 back to back for glass doors. Type 13 is the one for 1/2 inch glass. Type 5 covers 1-3/4 inch metal, composite or wood doors.
2) What is the center-to-center spacing on the PDQ 99E pull handle?
The 99E is a 10 inch center-to-center pull with a 1 inch round offset handle. If 10 inches does not match the existing holes in your door, PDQ pulls run from 5-1/2 inches up to 12 inches CTC depending on model, so a different model number will be needed rather than a variant of the 99E.
3) Does back to back mean I get a pull on both sides of the door?
Yes. Back-to-back means two 99E offset handles mount through the door opposite each other on the same fasteners, so both faces get a pull. If you only want a pull on one face with a push plate on the other, you want a single-mount PDQ pull paired with a push plate instead, which is how non-locking doors are commonly specified.
4) Is the PDQ 99E an ADA compliant pull?
The 99E is not the ADA hand clearance model. PDQ's ADA-oriented pull is the H3, which has 2-1/2 inch hand clearance. Whichever pull you use, PDQ's recommended mounting follows ADA/ANSI A117.1 guidance: pull at 42 inches above finished floor with a minimum 4 inch clearance between the pull and the door stile.
5) What are the heavy duty fastener option on the PDQ 99E and when should I pick it?
Fasteners are a required choice: standard, or HD 5/16 inch fasteners. The HD option is offered on 1 inch diameter pulls, which includes the 99E, and is the one to take on high traffic openings where the handle gets pulled hard all day. Standard fasteners are fine for light interior traffic.
6) What finish does the PDQ 99E pull come in?
One finish: 630 satin stainless steel, ordered as 99E630. That is the standard commercial stainless look, so it will match most existing stainless push plates and pulls on adjacent openings in a building.
7) Can I use a door pull instead of a lockset on a restroom or storage door?
That is exactly what the 99E is for. Pulls and push plates suit openings that need open-and-close only and no locking: interior doors, restrooms, storage rooms, one-way traffic doors. There is no latch, no cylinder and no lock prep involved. If the door ever needs to be secured, you need a lockset, not a pull.
8) Is the PDQ 99E rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential pull?
Commercial. The 99E is catalogued as commercial door hardware, with 1 inch round stainless tube, through-door back-to-back mounting and an optional 5/16 inch heavy duty fastener set, which is the build you want on institutional and multi-family openings rather than a residential surface pull.
