PDQ GP115 Grade 2 Store Room Cylindrical Lever Lock

Grade 2 Heavy Duty Commercial Cylindrical Lever Lock

The PDQ GP115 is the Storeroom function (ANSI/BHMA F86) of the PDQ GP Series Grade 2 Heavy Duty Cylindrical Lock.

The PDQ GP Series is an ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 2 cylindrical lever lock with a heavy duty diecast chassis. Its lever torque resistance of 1,500 lbf-in is tested to three times the ANSI/BHMA standard.

The GP Series complements PDQ's Grade 1 GT and XGT cylindrical locks, using the same Philadelphia, Boston and Miami lever designs and rose options. That lets a building put Grade 1 hardware on exterior and high-traffic doors and GP locks on low to medium traffic openings without a visual mismatch. GP locks are assembled in Lancaster, PA and carry an 8-year limited warranty.

Key Features

  • Heavy duty diecast, investment cast and cold rolled steel chassis with stainless steel mechanism
  • 13-gauge steel anti-rotation plate installed on the secure side

  • Keyed functions use a 6-pin brass cylinder in SCC (Schlage C compatible) keyway, with interchangeable core options compatible with Best, Falcon and Arrow small format IC cores
  • UL 10C listed for 3-hour fire doors on single doors up to 4'0" x 8'0"; complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the GP and PDQ's Grade 1 GT lock?
GP is Grade 2, rated for lower-traffic openings, while GT is Grade 1 for heavy-duty use. GP shares the same Philadelphia, Boston and Miami lever designs as GT, so a project can specify GT on exterior and high-traffic doors and GP on interior doors without a visual mismatch.

Is the GP lock fire rated and ADA compliant?
Yes. GP is UL listed for 3-hour fire doors on single doors up to 4'0" x 8'0" and complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1 accessibility standards.

What door prep and backset does the GP use?
GP is a thru-bolt design that fits standard 160/161 door prep on doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick, with a 2-3/4" standard or 2-3/8" backset.

PDQ GP115PHL626L – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the PDQ GP115 storeroom lever fit a 1-3/8 inch door, or is it only for 1-3/4?
Both. The GP115 is a thru-bolt cylindrical lock built for doors 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch thick, and it ships preset for 1-3/4 inch, so a 1-3/8 inch door means adjusting at install rather than ordering a different lock. It drops into standard 160 and 161 door prep.
2) Does the GP115 need to be ordered left or right hand?
No handing to specify. The GP115 is non-handed, so one lock covers either swing and you can stock a single part number across a building.
3) What does the F86 storeroom function actually do on the door?
F86 storeroom means the outside lever is always locked and the latch is retracted by key only. The inside lever always retracts the latch for free egress, and the door relocks behind you because there is no way to leave the outside lever unlocked. It is a single-cylinder keyed function, which is why it is the standard choice for janitor closets, electrical rooms, IT and storage.
4) Can I key the PDQ GP115 into my existing Schlage system?
Yes. The GP115 comes standard with a 6-pin brass cylinder in the SCC keyway, which is Schlage C compatible, so it keys into an existing Schlage C system. Other keyways are selectable at order, including Schlage E, Corbin 59A1, 60 and L4, Russwin D1, Sargent LA and RA-RC, Arrow AR1, Accentra (Yale) E1R and GA, Falcon E-R, Kwikset (5-pin only) and PDQ's restricted TA. Keying choices run from keyed different and 0-bitted through keyed alike, master keyed, master keyed to existing bittings, and construction master keyed.
5) Will the GP115 take a small format interchangeable core from Best, Falcon or Arrow?
It will. The GP115 is offered with SFIC prep that accepts Best, Falcon and Arrow small format IC cores, in 6-pin or 7-pin core versions, or as SFIC prep less core if you are supplying your own. If your facility is standardized on Schlage large format, there are Schlage LFIC prep versions, with a Schlage core, less core, or with a construction core. Conventional cylinder and less cylinder are also available.
6) Should I use the PDQ GP Series or the Grade 1 GT on my project?
Pick by traffic. The GP115 is ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 2 and intended for low to medium traffic interior openings; PDQ's GT and XGT are Grade 1 for exterior and high-use doors. The useful part is that GP uses the same Philadelphia, Boston and Miami levers and the same rose, so a building can run GT on the front and high-abuse doors and GP on offices and storage with no visual mismatch. GP is not a budget-looking lock either, with a diecast, investment cast and cold rolled steel chassis, stainless mechanism, and 1,500 lbf-in lever torque resistance.
7) Will the GP115 latch into the strike already in my frame?
The latchbolt has a 1/2 inch throw and ships with an ASA standard strike measuring 1-1/4 x 4-7/8 inches, which is what most commercial hollow metal frames are prepped for. If your frame has a smaller prep, order the T-Strike at 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches or the Full Lip Strike at 1-5/8 x 2-1/4 inches instead. A dust box can be added where the frame or wood jamb needs one.
8) Does the GP115 come in a 2-3/8 inch backset for a residential-prepped door?
Yes. Standard is a 2-3/4 inch backset, with 2-3/8 inch optional, and the backset choice is tied to the faceplate: 234 gives 2-3/4 with a 2-1/4 x 1-1/8 face, 234F gives 2-3/4 with a 2-1/4 x 1 face, 238F and 238 give 2-3/8 with the 1-1/8 and 1 inch faces respectively, and 238R gives 2-3/8 with a 2-1/4 x 1 x 1/4 radius faceplate for doors prepped with a radius-corner mortise.
9) Can the PDQ GP115 replace a Schlage AL80 or Best 7KC storeroom lock?
PDQ lists the GP115 as its cross reference for the Schlage ALx80, Best 7KC D, Arrow MLx82, Corbin CL3857, Falcon B581, Hager 3580, Sargent 7G04, Accentra 5305LN, Dorma Arch C280 and Dorma Comm QCL270. All are storeroom-function cylindrical locks, and the GP115 fits the same 160/161 prep with a 2-3/4 inch backset, so it goes back into an existing opening. Match the keyway when you order if the new lock has to run on the old key.
10) What finishes and lever styles does the PDQ GP115 come in?
Seven finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613E dark oxidized satin bronze, 619 satin nickel, 622 flat black, 625 bright chrome and 626 satin chrome. Lever choice is Philadelphia, Boston or Miami, all solid diecast on a 3-3/8 inch diameter wrought brass rose with concealed screws. If the inside and outside need to differ, the SF split finish option covers it, outside trim designated first.
11) Are there healthcare or X-ray room options for the PDQ GP115?
Two that matter in healthcare. The AM antimicrobial coating covers the inside and outside levers and roses, and is available in 626 satin chrome only. For imaging suites there is an LL lead-lined rose. A weatherized finish is also offered, again 626 only, for exposed openings.
12) Is there a tactile warning option on the GP115 for hazardous rooms?
Yes. Tactile abrasive coating can be ordered inside only (TC1IS), outside only (TC1OS), or both sides (TC2). Facilities use it on doors to electrical, mechanical and chemical storage so a visually impaired user feels the warning on the lever. It pairs naturally with the storeroom function on those rooms.
13) How many keys come with each PDQ GP115 lock?
Two keys per lock. If you are ordering a run of them, specify the keying scheme at the same time: keyed different, keyed alike in groups of 2, 3-4 or 5 and up, master keyed, master keyed to existing bittings, construction master keyed, or 0-bitted with two blank keys if your locksmith is pinning them on site.
