1) Will a Philips PL-T 4-pin lamp work in a PL-C socket?
No. The PL-T is a triple-tube compact fluorescent with a 4-pin base, and it is about 25% shorter than a PL-C lamp. A PL-C socket takes a twin-tube lamp of different pin geometry, so the two are not interchangeable. Match the fixture socket to the PL-T 4-pin base before ordering.
2) Does the 4-pin PL-T run on a magnetic ballast or does it need an electronic one?
Four-pin compact fluorescents like the PL-T have no integral starter, so they must be run on a ballast that provides the starting circuit.
