1) Will the Prodatakey Red keypad reader work with the 125 kHz prox cards we already issue?
Yes. The Red keypad reader (model RKB) reads both 125 kHz proximity and 13.56 MHz high-security credentials, so existing prox cards keep working while you migrate to encrypted credentials on the same reader. Read range on 125 kHz is up to 4 inches.
2) Can I wire the Prodatakey RKB reader into an existing Wiegand panel, or does it require OSDP?
Either. The RKB outputs both OSDP and Wiegand, so it drops onto a legacy Wiegand panel or runs OSDP multi-drop when you want several readers on one cable run instead of home-running wire to each door. On Wiegand, cable distance is up to 500 feet with 22AWG.
