The VX100 vaporproof ceiling fixture mounts to a 4-inch box, so it drops onto the standard round or octagon box already in most ceilings. The body measures 4.8 inches across and 4.8 high, so it covers a 4-inch box footprint without a separate canopy plate.
2) Does the RAB VX100 come in a 3/4 inch hub, or only 1/2 inch?
Both. The VX100 is ordered by hub size, either 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch, and the hub is not field-changeable, so match it to the conduit you are running before you order. The 3/4 inch versions carry a -3/4 suffix on the part number (VX100DG-3/4 in natural, VX100DGB-3/4 in black, VX100DGW-3/4 in white); the plain VX100DG, VX100DGB and VX100DGW are the 1/2 inch hub.
3) Is the RAB VX100 with cast guard OK for a wash bay or commercial kitchen ceiling?
That is what the sealed vaporproof build is for. Yes, the hub is threaded for conduit, which is the point of specifying the hub size up front. Order the 1/2 inch hub for 1/2 inch conduit runs and the 3/4 inch hub for 3/4 inch. It will also land on a 4-inch box where you are tying into existing ceiling rough-in rather than running new pipe.
6) Can I put an LED bulb in the RAB VX100 instead of incandescent?
The socket takes an A21 lamp, and LED A21 lamps use the same medium base and shape, so a swap is straightforward on lamp geometry alone. Watch total heat in an enclosed globe: many LED A21 lamps are marked for enclosed-fixture use and many are not, so check the lamp's own marking. The fixture side is fine up to its 150 watt rating, which any LED A21 is far under.
