For spot troubleshooting, yes. The TI250 uses a VOx microbolometer with 10,800 pixels of true thermal resolution shown on a 2.4 inch TFT LCD at 320 x 240. That is enough to see hot lugs, loose terminations, radiant floor loops, and missing batt insulation in a wall cavity at normal working distance. It is not a high-resolution imager for fine detail at long range or for building-envelope reports that need large pixel counts. Thermal sensitivity is under 60 mK, so small temperature differences still show up.

No card is in the box. The TI250 stores photos on a microSD card that is sold separately, so order one alongside the camera if you need to document findings for a work order or a client report. What does ship with it: the thermal imager, a micro-USB charging cable, a carrying case, and instructions. Photo capture is built in; you just need the card to hold the files.

Emissivity adjusts from 0.01 to 1.00 so the readings stay accurate on different surfaces. Painted drywall, wood and most building materials sit near 0.95 and work fine at the default. Bare copper bus, shiny aluminum and galvanized duct reflect instead of emit, so without lowering emissivity (or putting a piece of electrical tape on the target and reading that) the camera will under-report the temperature. That mistake is the usual reason a hot connection looks cool on screen.

Above 212 degrees F (100 degrees C) the TI250 reads within +/- 2 degrees or 2 percent, whichever is greater. Below that, it is +/- 3 degrees or 3 percent, whichever is greater. For the work this tool is bought for, comparative scanning, that is plenty: you are looking at the delta between one breaker and its neighbor, or one radiant loop and the next, not chasing a calibrated absolute number.

No thermal camera sees through anything. The TI250 senses in the 8 to 14 micron long-wave band, which reads the surface temperature of whatever it is pointed at. Glass, water and shiny metal reflect in that band rather than emit, so you get a reflection, not what is behind. What you actually find is the temperature pattern a hidden problem leaves on the surface: a wet spot cooling drywall, a stud line, a hot pipe warming a floor.

Three: Ironbow, Rainbow, and Grayscale. Ironbow is the common pick for electrical and mechanical hot-spot work because hot reads bright against a dark field. Rainbow spreads a narrow temperature band across more colors, which helps on building envelope scans where differences are small. Grayscale gives the cleanest look at shape and edges. It is a display choice, not a measurement change.

No laser sighting on the TI250. You aim using the on-screen image and the crosshair marker, which is what identifies the spot the temperature reading is taken from. With a 50 degree +/- 3 degree field of view it takes in a wide area, so you see enough context around the target to know what you are looking at without a laser dot.

The TI250 runs under 9 Hz, which is the standard threshold below which thermal imagers avoid the tighter export controls that apply to faster refresh cameras. In practice on the job it means the image updates slowly enough that you pan the camera deliberately rather than sweeping fast. For panel, motor, duct and envelope scanning that is not a limitation. The unit carries CE and UKCA marking.
