GENERAC RG02724ANAX RG02724ANAX - 27/25 kW, 1800rpm, Alum Enclosure, SCAQMD Compliant

The RG02724ANAX is built to the SCAQMD compliant configuration, which is what South Coast Air Quality Management District jurisdictions in the Los Angeles basin require for a permitted stationary standby unit. It is also ETL Listed, UL Listed and CSA Certified. If the job is outside a SCAQMD district, the compliance package does no harm, it just is not required.

Rated output is 113 A at 120/240 V single phase, so the service disconnect and the automatic transfer switch have to be sized at or above that, 125 A being the usual next standard frame. It is a single phase machine only, so it will not serve a 208 V or 480 V three phase panel. Confirm the ATS is rated for the full load you intend to back up before you order it.

That is exactly the case for it. The RG02724ANAX uses an aluminum enclosure over a steel frame, and aluminum does not rust the way a painted steel housing does when it sits in salt spray or humid coastal air. Finish is grey. For an inland property a steel enclosure version of the same output will do the same electrical job, so the aluminum premium is about the environment the unit sits in, not the power it makes.

Two numbers for two fuels: 27 kW on one gas and 25 kW on the other, which is how liquid propane and natural gas outputs are published on Protector Series units. Rated wattage on the spec record is 27000 W. Size your load calculation to the lower of the two if the site is on natural gas.

Yes, and that is the main reason to specify it. The RG02724ANAX turns at 1800 rpm, half the speed of a typical air-cooled residential standby, which means less noise and less wear per hour of run time. The weekly self-test runs at a reduced rpm as well and can be set to weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, which matters in an HOA or a dense multi-family setting where a full-speed exercise cycle generates complaints.

Output is held under 5% total harmonic distortion, which is the threshold most IT and electronic equipment specs call for on generator power. At 120/240 V single phase and 113 A it will carry a small clinic, a server closet or a house full of variable speed HVAC and inverter appliances without the waveform trouble a cheap portable creates. Remote monitoring is included, so a facilities team can see generator status from a phone or PC rather than walking the site.

Country of origin on the RG02724ANAX is the United States, which is what a public agency or institutional procurement file usually needs for domestic preference language. It also carries no Prop 65 birth defect chemical declaration and no shipping restrictions on the product record, so it moves as ordinary freight.

RG02724ANAX is the manufacturer part number, and it is a single configuration, not a family with options to pick. Ordering it gets you the 27/25 kW, 1800 rpm machine in the aluminum enclosure in the SCAQMD compliant build. Anything ending in a different suffix is a different enclosure material or emissions configuration.
